Green silk woven in the ikat method, where the yarns are tie dyed before weaving to form soft, feathered diamonds in magenta and yellow. The pallu shifts into hand painted kalamkari panels that narrate scenes in warm earthy tones. A gold zari border frames the play of woven geometry and painted storytelling. A rich, artisanal drape for weddings and festive occasions.

The craft
Kalamkari Kanchipuram
Kalamkari is a centuries old hand painting art from Andhra Pradesh, most famously from Srikalahasti, where every motif is drawn freehand with a bamboo pen called a kalam and set with natural dyes. Scenes from mythology, temples, peacocks and lotuses are painted onto silk over many patient days. A wearable work of art, treasured for festivals, weddings and special occasions.
