Deep purple locks into a soft sage green on this Kanchipuram silk saree through a striking row of temple points, woven in pure two gram zari. The temple motif echoes the towers of a South Indian shrine and gives the drape a quiet grandeur. Purple with sage is a restrained, contemporary pairing on a very traditional weave. The mulberry silk falls with weight and the zari edge glows as the pallu moves. Elegant for receptions, weddings and evening celebrations.

The craft
Kanchipuram Silk
Woven in the temple town of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, from pure mulberry silk and real zari. Its hallmark is the korvai technique, where a contrast border and pallu are woven separately and interlocked to the body for lasting strength. Rich temple, check and floral motifs make it a treasured wedding heirloom.
