Classic red glows across this Kanchipuram silk saree, woven with pure two gram zari so the gold sits heavy and true. Fine muthu rekku stripes run like rows of pearls down the body, and the border carries the annam, the swan South Indian weavers use for grace and purity. Red is the colour a bride reaches for first, and the richness of the silk gives it real presence. A saree made for weddings, muhurtham mornings and the happiest family occasions.

The craft
Kanchipuram Silk
Woven in the temple town of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, from pure mulberry silk and real zari. Its hallmark is the korvai technique, where a contrast border and pallu are woven separately and interlocked to the body for lasting strength. Rich temple, check and floral motifs make it a treasured wedding heirloom.
