Peacock green runs the length of this Thirubuvanam silk saree, shading along fine woven lines so the colour shifts as the drape moves. It closes into a purple pallu carrying a pair of gold zari annam birds with their tails spread, the swan standing for discernment in South Indian weaving. The double side border means the zari reads from either face. Shaded grounds like this take careful dyeing before the silk ever reaches the loom. A distinctive saree for receptions and festive evenings.

Thirubuvanam Silk
Woven in Thirubuvanam near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, this pure mulberry silk is a close cousin of Kanchipuram, prized for its soft feel and vivid, lustrous colours. Fine zari borders and delicate buttas complete the look. A GI recognised weave loved for weddings, festivals and family celebrations.
