Bright green runs the length of this Thirubuvanam silk saree before turning into a deep maroon pallu, the colours interlocked at the korvai border. Gold zari annam birds stand facing one another on the maroon with their tails opened wide. The green is the parrot shade that Tamil weavers have always favoured for temple silks. A gold butta marks the body. A vivid saree for temple festivals, weddings and celebration mornings.
