A sage green field carries rows of coral elephants across this pomegranate modal saree, each one stamped by hand with a Bagru block. The elephant signals majesty and good fortune, and the herd gives the drape a gentle sense of movement. Modal keeps the saree light and fluid, with a soft sheen that shows as the pleats turn. The coral red pallu, printed with roundels, closes the look with warmth. Wear it to Navratri evenings, temple visits and cheerful family gatherings.

The craft
Pomegranate Modal Silk
Bagru, a printing town near Jaipur, has been home to the Chhipa community of hand block printers for roughly three centuries. Its colours come from the earth: madder root for red, indigo leaf for blue, pomegranate rind and turmeric for yellow, and a fermented iron syahi for black, all fixed on cloth first treated with harda. Pomegranate modal gives that centuries old craft a fluid, softly slubbed cloth that carries the warmth of tussar silk with the easy drape of modal, so every block reads crisply while the saree moves lightly.
