Green and indigo meet across this Tussar modal saree, printed by hand in Bagru with medallions set among fine stripes. The medallion draws flowers into a single balanced form, a motif that speaks of harmony and order. Modal keeps the drape light so the pallu moves with ease, and the mustard and navy printed end adds an unexpected contrast. The natural dyes give every panel a softly uneven glow. A striking saree for festival nights and celebratory dinners.

The craft
Pomegranate Modal Silk
Bagru, a printing town near Jaipur, has been home to the Chhipa community of hand block printers for roughly three centuries. Its colours come from the earth: madder root for red, indigo leaf for blue, pomegranate rind and turmeric for yellow, and a fermented iron syahi for black, all fixed on cloth first treated with harda. Pomegranate modal gives that centuries old craft a fluid, softly slubbed cloth that carries the warmth of tussar silk with the easy drape of modal, so every block reads crisply while the saree moves lightly.
