Brown and silver grey interlock in a bold temple point design on this soft silk Kanchipuram saree, with fine zari marking the join. Soft silk keeps the drape light and fluid, so the deep shades stay easy to wear through a long evening. The temple point is one of the oldest South Indian border forms and it gives the piece a striking graphic clarity. A confident saree for receptions, evening parties and festive gatherings.

The craft
Kanchipuram Silk
Woven in the temple town of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, from pure mulberry silk and real zari. Its hallmark is the korvai technique, where a contrast border and pallu are woven separately and interlocked to the body for lasting strength. Rich temple, check and floral motifs make it a treasured wedding heirloom.
